Sherrie
A Butterfly in Her Garden
God laid his hand on the earth and said, "I will create beautiful things for beautiful things please me."
"I have created birds to sing, animals to play in the fields, and fish to swim in my waters. And all are beautiful."
"I have created love for love in itself is beautiful. It needs no further description."
"I love flowers. If I had to pick my most favorite thing, it is my flowers."
"I have put man and woman on earth to tend my beautiful things.
Some of my children are better than others at the tending. It is my will that this is so. I will call those people gardeners for they are special."
"Some of my gardener's plant fields of flowers that wave to me when the wind blows. Some plant hither and yon in small spaces to brighten the day for passers by. Those gardeners have tender hearts and loving souls."
"There is one such garden and one such gardener."
"I had one patch of earth that was overgrown with brush and weeds. Only someone with magic in her hands could bring this soil to life upon which my eyes could feast."
"She worked through pain from two spinal surgeries. She pushed on. I saw it all. When she cried, I cried. When she stood back to admire her work, I whispered to her, "Good job!"
"Her gift of beauty has seen good days and bad. But even in the bad days, her love had enriched the soil so it refused to give up. Together they stood against the odds and together they defied evil."
”Now her garden is finished. It is lovely. I am pleased. I will call it Sherrie’s Garden.”
“I am so pleased that I shall send a messenger…a butterfly to sit on her leg, slowly move its wings and whisper, “Good job!
